Vancouver Island Small Business Specialist helps communities get their message out

Vancouver Island Small Business and Communication specialist Clemens Rettich joins community business development leaders at the Economic Development Association of BC, at the 2011 “Power of Economic Development” conference. The event, taking place in Langley on June 4 – 7 brings together delegates from across British Columbia with high profile keynote speakers and leading-edge workshop presenters.

Clemens Rettich lives on Vancouver Island and is a small business and communication specialist who provides support for clients across Canada. Rettich helps successful small businesses redesign themselves to become even more successful. He also supports businesses in improving their communication through branding, social media, and management practices.

For the EDABC Conference, Rettich will be speaking to delegates about best practices in communication that allow economic development teams to build thriving networks in tough times.

Rettich says “Do you want to connect with someone that can make a difference in your business or community? Find out what keeps them up and night, address that, and you’ll have their attention. Listen first, deliver your message in a way that addresses their needs; then follow up religiously. Your message will get through.”

Rettich will share with participants both practical ways of managing communication overload, and of getting results that can transform organizations.

Mr. Rettich is looking forward to an exciting conference that will shape the economic health of our communities of tomorrow. The EDABC is at the forefront of provincial organizations rethinking issues that affect the very real economic, employment, and lifestyle issues of our communities.
